Students in Grades 3-8 Will Start State IAR Testing Beginning Week of March 9th

Posted Date: 03/05/26 (11:00 AM)

Children work on laptops in a classroom setting, with "Testing Tips" displayed prominently.Starting next week, Collinsville CUSD 10 students in grades 3 through 8 will be assessed in language arts and mathematics. The tests are part of the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) program and are administered to all eligible students.

The testing window in our district begins on Monday, March 9, and continues through Tuesday, March 31.  The specific testing dates for each school will fall within that time frame; dates could differ between schools.

Please watch for information from your child's teacher/school regarding the specific days they will be testing

The results of these state tests will be reported to you in the school's Report Card in the fall. We will review the results of these state tests along with other information to help us improve our school program. In addition, you will receive information about your child's performance on the state tests they took.

You can help your child do their best on the test by:
  • ensuring, if possible, that your child attends school on test days;
  • ensuring your child gets a good night's sleep the night before the test;
  • providing breakfast on test mornings or having your child eat free breakfast available at school;
  • reminding your child to ask the teacher questions if they don't understand the instructions;
  • letting your child know that you have confidence in their ability to do their best; and
  • advising your child not to worry about the test, just do their best.

Contact your child's teacher if you would like additional information or have further questions about these tests.

We look forward to sharing the IAR results with you this fall.
